About:Shaba Shabu is Raleigh's most exciting restaurants to open in years. Step in to the Manhattan style lounge and enjoy a martini while you enjoy the up-beat atmosphere. The restaurant is divided into four parts: a private dining room for more intimate experiences, a 50 ft. sushi bar for a more casual meal, a room of shabu shabu tables, that allow you to cook your own food right in front of you, and they even offer your own private table where you can enjoy all of the above behind closed curtains.     The Tom Kha soup I ordered was barely luke-warm and had an awful taste, not to mention the portion was small. The Thai food was definitely not very good. My husband had the Udon noodles which were not much better. We left very disappointed with this restaurant.

    I am somewhat a snob when it comes to sushi and this is the BEST in Raleigh. I often try other places and they never live up to Shabashabu. The service does need a lot of work and the price is high but they have me hooked. Try it.
