I love sushi but I will not be going back to this Kanki. Last visit we had bad service, it took almost 1.5 hours to get our meal. I can not speak for the hibachi side, but the sushi side has been getting progressively worse every visit.
The food was ok. Not much flavor... and the hibachi "show" was nothing to rave about. Probably would not spend that kind of money here again.
i hate to write this....but i have found kanki (for sushi) has gone down a bit. we never do tableside, always sushi. for 4-5 years, has been great. over the past 3 visits, it has gone down to me.
my main complaint is portion size for sashimi. when you pay over $7 for 5 pieces of sashimi, you should expect some decent portions. they have started doing small, thin triangle portions. i provided feedback on the website and never got a response back....aka not good customer service to me.
the fish has not always tasted great lately too, esp the tuna. i am sad to say, i wouldn't pick it now when in raleigh for sushi........and it was always our first choice in the past.
i think i would go back to waraji or try a different one at this stage
