Good food in an unrefined package: If you judge a book by its cover, this place doesn't look like much. If you judge it by its food, it's darn good. I have tried several of their meals over the years and what I have had has been excellent. My favorite is their chicken sandwich (at a restaurant named "Shrimp Boats"?). It's a very novel, and tasty, approach to the chicken sandwich. They catered a friend's wedding and that was well done too. Yummy.

Shrimp Boat is the best on the east coast ever: It is simply the best food I have ever had on the east coast ever in the history of the world, ever. No one makes better food than this ever. If you want to eat good food, and not bad food, then eat here. They have good food. It is the best. Trust me. I am serious. It is the best food in the history of mankind. This food is far from being bad.

Neighborhood Tradition: Shrimp Boat has been on Chapel Hill Blvd. for years. My mother used to take me there as a child, and as long as I can remember their food has been excellent. I had not been there in over 7 years, but I went back in July 2006 to sample. Just like in previous years, I was not disappointed! It is definitely worth a try! You'll love it!
