THE best, owned by japanese and its how sushi and other japanese dishes should be served and should taste. trust me, i am japanese ;)
I've been to several places in the triangle and this is the place I most often find myself going to. We usually get the more Americanized Sushi rolls so I don't know much about authenticity however I think it's one of the best places over all. I think for your money you can't really beat it especially if you are in the North Raleigh area.
Alright after hearing about this place for years we went. First of all, although I was raised in the States, I have always had Japanese food growing up (my parents are Japanese). I have lived in Japan and I think I have a decent grasp of Japanese food. This is decent Japanese food. The sushi was slightly above average. It's not the best sushi I have had in the Triangle. The other dishes that my wife and sister had were subpar (they were not sushi--ginger chicken and a grossly oversized yakizakana), and the tempura was just bad. I know you guys think tempura is just fried food, but it's not. It's often a good gauge for seeing how the kitchen is at Japanese places. This was not very authentic. The decor was not even "minimalist" as advertised. It was alright. The place is okay. It's probably good for the Triangle, but I am sick of reading about how this place is as good as someplace in NYC. It's not that good and not that authentic. That said, I have had worse sushi in Cali and better sushi in Wisconsin, but that doesn't mean it's better than most in Cali or worse than most in WI. Come on folks, don't get carried away with your reviews.
