User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsGreat food here! I love getting Duck Deli food. The only problem with Duck Deli is that the eating in environment is very hot, bland, and bad. But you can always just do takeout.
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAwesome food, service and value! Duck Deli has been a staple in my family's OBX vacation experience for years. As you will read from other reviewers, the BBQ is great and very reasonably priced. This year we tried their breakfast fare too and were not disappointed in our already high expectations. Very highly recommended!
User Rating: 4 out of 5 starsMy brother recommended having a Duck Deli lunch upon our arrival to OBX. They offered Carolina BBQ with all sorts of meats (pulled pork, pulled Beef, Chicken, Ribs) so as they say, "When in Rome.." I had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and it was quite good. Washing it down with some sweet tea completed the OBX experience.
My family went again after our trip to the Wright Brothers memorial and I order the BBQ sampler which included two sides, 3 hush puppies, 3 ribs, 3 chicken wings, and a scoop of pulled pork. All I can say is "Wow" the chicken wings had a nice crisp skin and after you bit into it, the meat fell off of the bone and melted into you mouth. The ribs had a good 1/4 inch smoke ring and was flavorful and tender. The hush puppies (eat them fresh, they don't travel well) rivaled some of the best that we have had.
As stated in other reviews, this is a "sandwich shop" atmosphere. Parking and seating is limited which is the only downside to eating here.
