is good when it is good and can be bad when it is bad. not as consistent as it use to be. some recent shrimp orders have been soggy and greasy. chicken was undercooked recently too.....for the most part though, the meals are still good.
they need to take apple pie off the drive in menu. they never have them ready and if you want one through the drive through, you have to wait a while. should just remove that from the sign since they don't have them ready to go (and sadly, they are some of the best in the world)....

Worthy! Delicious! Most Satisfying!: Visits to this family style restaurant are a staple for many residents of Edenton and the surrounding area. The Chicken Kitchen feeds a large group of the working class population of Edenton every day for lunch as well as Sunday patrons emptying from earlier church services. The primary menu is fried chicken, fish, and seafood. Yet what we find here most notable are the excellent side orders that accompany the primary entrees. For those who relish sweet cole slaw, there is no other as sweet and delightfully fresh. The potato salad is exemplary as are the other side orders available from the menu. Prices are in line with other restaurants of this genre. There is a drive-through window for convienience. I am pleased to offer this review of a fine privately owned restaurant which upholds the tradition of southern cooking so very well.
