I give Sante a "Poor" rating based on the rave reviews by others. Perhaps I was there on an off day. Based on my experience the restaurant, although quaint is very over rated (at lunch). Pricy and food was mediocre at best, small portion, bread for crab cake sandwich must have come straight from Harris Teeter - 2 days ago. Portobello sandwich was also OK - nothing special. Deserts were small and pricy. Won't go back - better places for less $$.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in the Charlotte area. It is an undiscovered gem, located in the heart of downtown Matthews. You won't be impressed by the decor, but you will love the food and the service. I've been many times and while everything on the menu is good, try the salmon. It is the best in Charlotte.

My husband and I were in Matthews June 27th. We had an excellent dinner. I had the free range chicken and my husband sword fish. I know the owner uses organic vegetables whenever possible. The portions were more than adequate. Drinks a little pricey, but all in all we felt the meal was worth the cost.
