   MoreThe Thomas J. O'Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center provides animal control services for the cities of Springfield, Chicopee, and Holyoke. Our animal control officers respond to routine service calls seven days a week from 7am-10pm. Emergency response for ill, injured or aggressive animals is available 24 hours a day. Our adoption fees are as follows: Adult dogs (12 months and up) $250.00 Puppies (12 months and under) $300.00 Cats (12 months and up) $90.00 Kittens (12 months and under) $150.00 All of our adoptable pets are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, given a comprehensive vet exam and required, age appropriate vaccines. We are a division of the Health and Human Services department for the City of Springfield. As such, our budget is tight and we operate with a limited staff and rely on our amazing volunteers to help keep us going. If you are coming to visit the shelter to meet an animal, please plan on being here for 1-2 hours depending on how busy we are. Less
