We went for sit-down dinner last night as we traveled through Wilmington.
It's exactly what Chinese food should be. The prices and portions are like a bulk serving quick take out place, but the decor, cleanliness, and service was that of a rather nice restaurant.
The woman at the front talked about how all the food is fresh and made from scratch when you order it. The menu describes (/specifies) exactly what you're going to get: down to exactly what type of noodles and how it's going to be cooked. (Note: they had a few Thai things on the menu too).
The sesame chicken came out steamy hot on the inside and crispy on the outside (first time I've had a restaurant do this right in ~5 years), which makes the sauce actually pair with the sesames and sides: even the combo meal (with soup, egg roll, rice) came with a good portion of the chicken. The Lo Mein was proper (not some gravy soup thing with the wrong type of noodles like we keep getting elsewhere): a good dose of greasy noodles, chicken with light scorched marks, and a bit light on the veggies. It tasted like they might of used a touch of fresh ginger in the sauce, too, though it's hard call because garlic steals the show.
There's nothing particularly "special" (unique: except for it being done right, ha!) about the food, persay. But... it is exactly what it should be: good Chinese food.
If this were in New York City or Dallas, it would get a 3.5 to 4 star. But for North Carolina, I don't think you can get better, especially not for the price.

I don't normally write reviews on-line, but after eating there this weekend, I want to share my experience. the food was really good and the service was great. We had Shrimp with Red Curry and the Pad Tai noodles, great recommendations from the waitress. Not something you'd find on a buffet. We even have leftovers to take home! There's no comparison between this and a buffet. Everything was fresh and hot. We definitely go back again very soon. Thanks for a job well done.
