This is a nice hotel. Nice pool, indoor and out, nice friendly staff, room appears to be clean, view is great. Perhaps it's because it's a weekend stay, but there were no cookies or snacks to greet me when I registered. Drinks were overpriced at $6 for a bottom shelf vodka & cranberry with lots of ice. No break on breakfast (if you can't do a continential at least give a coupon for a percent off your breakfast tab). Anyway, my stay was nice, but nothing spectacular.

First of all, the staff was helpful for the most part, though we used them barely at all. We only stayed one night, but while we were there, i noticed a few things that could be improved on. The first was that when we checked in, the room wasn't ready for another 2hrs, mgmt problem. Secondly, the outside pool was way too crowded. We watched several ppl that were not hotel guests use the pool. Also, i think that the mgmt should do a better job of making sure guests show some respect when walking around and not allow them to have their pants hanging below their butt cheeks. Especially when there are kids around. It's a hotel not a ghetto. Overall, i would have to say that i enjoyed my stay there, though for $290/night i would expect more.

Fabulous Accomadations!: The Courtyard by Marriott Carolina Beach is like all Marriotts - You can't describe it well enough in words! This wonderful 10-story, 144-room highrise was an excellent decision for Marriott. The hotel brought in growth and prosperity to the charming seaside town of Carolina Beach, North Carolina while helping Marriott to thrive off of their investment. The innovative floorplan makes an efficient and comfortable hotel layout.

Rooms are spacious and functional. The freshness and youthfulness of the hotel allows for the best in technology (It was completed in late 2003). All guest rooms are oceanfront, and there are 18 suites all on the ends of the hotel. These have a separate bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room, and kitchenette. They span the shorter sides of the hotel. There are also jacuzzi rooms. These are basic king rooms equipped with a large, elegant tile-bordered jacuzzi. The regular rooms are dreams themselves; They have everything that the regular hotel room has been expected to have and more. All accomadations have a private oceanfront balcony.

The social areas in the hotel are nice as well. The lobby is a room filled with nautical decor and plush sofas. There is also a nautical bar that intelligently connects to the kitchen. Yes, I said kitchen, and the Marriott has a nice one! The restaurant, called the Seaside Grille, has comfortable seating, sweeping views of the water and outdoor pool/patio, and excellent meals. It's open for an overflowing breakfast bufffet, a quiet lunch by the sea, or a formal dinner. There is computer access in the lobby and lots of little nooks and crannies to curl up in. The Market is the reason why you never have to leave the Marriott - If you're really rich, that is! The small store is connected in a smart way to the guest services counter. Moving down the first level, the indoor pool and jetted spa make for a relaxing evening with your partner or a fun family swim. This also offers a wide view of the sea. There's even an excercise room next door.

The Courtyard by Marriott is the ultimate place to stay in Carolina Beach, affording a luxurious experience for every guest every time. They take it upon themselves to make sure you're comfortable, and they take advantage of this seaside location to do so. But when you're in a place like this, why not? After all, IT'S THE MARRIOTT WAY!

I thought this area was for reviews, not for an advertisement... A "review" is not very helpful when it is written by the hotel management. I could have read the same thing on their website.
