Just awful. We were dragged to this place by my brother and his wife. Billed as the best Frogmore Stew you ever tasted. They described the joint as a hole in the wall, that it was. Prices reasonable, that they were not. The place had a dirty feeling to begin with. Do not get me wrong. I love holes in the wall! OK, prices upscale, not where I thought we were being brought. Now, for the Frogmore Stew....AWFUL...overcooked is not a good description. Listen, cooking is our hobby, this place just stinks. Now my wife, she had a so-called Shrimp hot and spicy salad. 14 bucks for pre-breaded, way too much hot sauce shrimp. You be the judge. Then this Krab Cake for 25 bucks, listen it may have been real crab, hard to tell, too little crab, way too much filler, a good taste however. I didn't even pay the bill and still I was disgusted. My relatives love the place....you be the judge!

NOT KID FRIENDLY! I swear if the waitress were to put her hand in my kids face one more time because she was trying to hush him up while taking our order, I was going to stop being so passive. He was asking for crayons and a coloring book. I had to ask her twice after that and she slammed my cup down and grabbed a coloring book out of 2 boxes against a window that were full of coloring books, and ripped out 1 page. We had to keep going to the bar to order our beverages because the waitress was inatentive. She got a little over $60 with the 18% gratuity that was added to our bill, she didnt deserve any of it. She was very rude and short mannered. She blamed everything on the chef and constantly used him as an excuse and tried to send him out to talk to us when we asked questions about menu options. She told us that he has a bad temper and doesnt like change. SO BASICALY WE SHOULD OF GONE TO BURGER KING AND HAD IT OUR WAY AND PROBABLY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A BETTER MEAL FROM THE DOLLAR MENU! We had to wait 20 minutes after being seated for her to finally come to the table. She stated that she thought we were waiting on one more person. (So we cant get any brek or drinks even if we were waiting for someone else?) Some entrees on the menue had "market price" and later we were billed $100 for an unreasonable portion of seafood. A horrible experience! Between the bar tender and the waitress and the lack of customer service while waiting for the food, we had NO desire for dessert. I understand fesh seafood but it felt like we were waiting for crab legs coming off one of the Deadlies Catch boats. She kept forgetting entrees and appetizers that were ordered and never sent out. We had to beg for bread1 They were not busy so it was a lack of service! I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN OR RECOMEND THIS PLACE! I should of read the reviews 1st, we had the exact same issues as others. While we were ordering she went to go ask the chef if he would substitute the 6 Tiger Shrimp that came with the steak for a salad. She left to go check, and forgot to come back and finish our order. When she finally came back, we asked the question again, she said she forgot to ask and would be right back. (Um, isnt that what you were suppose to be doing for the 15 more miutes that you were gone?) We were told that the chef was offeneded and the change would throw the kitchen off. We had a person in our party was that allergic to shellfish and just wanted the steak but not the shrimp that was included and maybe have a salad in its place. They expected us to pay $7 extra for a salad and not give us the shrimp. We werent wanting a cheaper price, just a salad. (Only one plate for a non seafood eater) We spent about $400 that night and prices were not of concern but after paying the bill.....I feel ROBBED! NEVER EVER AGAIN! I hope the owner hears word of all these bad reviews and changes her business tactics before she looses her business. The food wasnt that great but it wasnt horrible, but the hole experience left a bad taste in my mouth! There are much better restuarants that have friendly staff, tastier food and fairer prices. As we were leaving and walking down stairs there was an ice cream cooler with a variety of treats for about $2. That was probably the best thing they had to offer with a reasonable price!

ate at the establishment on 8/12/06 appx. 230PM, party size 7 - uninspiring food with a weak menu, particularly for those of us with children. the service was mediocre making the mandatory 18% gratuity infuriating. equally insulting was the $1 substitution upcharge for a meager portion of french fries on a sandwich dish. one of us had clams which were good but paltry serving size. its clear from other (newer) reviewers this place has lost it. we were fooled big time by a sorely mistaken and older review indicating this establishment represented fine dining. save your money and pass this place by. we're frequent NC vacationers but will never eat here again and recommend scratching this place from consideration, if there is no other choice - eat at home.
