Food is out of this world, atmosphere is a little outdated and not so comfortable (unless you get the coveted window spot). Service is generally awful, whether its the owner herself, the mean red haired woman who acts as if she is doing you a favor taking your order, or one of the many teenage girls they employee. Its one of the few times I actually HOPE for a teenager to take my order!(they are the lesser evil in this place) Despite all this I take every visitor here because of the food. The black bean hummus makes memories, people jones for it months after they go home. The ranch dressing and pita bread they use are magnificent. Prices are good for downtown New Bern. I haven't been there since they redecorated so the seating may have changed. I do recommend Marina Sweets just don't expect much from the service.

I love this place: I am from Pamlico County which is located east of New Bern, but I live in Statesville NC at the present time. I love Marina Sweets. The foood is to die for. When I go home to visit that is the one place I have to go before my return to Statesville. Marina sweets is the type of place you can get up in the morning throw your hair back in a hair clip, slip on your flip flops and still be made to fill comfortable. I find myself talking about this quite little spot to all my new friends here in Statesville. Unfortunately I have not been able to find a place here that comes close in comparison.
