    Been to this place twice in 3 months we have lived in New Bern, NC. Got to be one of the best places in town to eat! Go here and you will be glad you did. Great food, excellent service, friendly staff. Highly reccommended !!!

    My wife and I went to New Bern for a day trip. We had lunch there and it was great. I had the soft shell crab sandwich and she had the crabcake sandwich. The crabcake was fair, but the softshell crab was truly outstanding. Their corn muffins are good too.
    The restaurant we planned on for dinner was closed that day, so we went back to visit the Captain again. My wife had the softshell crab dinner and I had the low country boil. If the weather is good and you don't mind a lot of stairs, I recommend eating up on the rooftop.

    Me and my husband love Captain Ratty's. Super good food, however we haven't always had the best service. Fun place to go.
