I had a combo with broiled flounder and sea scollops and I have to tell you...I picked out bone after bone, the fish was very mushy and blah, the scollops were served in a monkey dish soaked in milky water and they were very very fishy...broiled should mean a slight browning with spices and flavor..My husband hated his stuffed flounder, skin and bones....for 50.00 I was not happy. I did not complain and here is why: it was very obvious that they have been serving this style for years and the locals think it's great....If you are fussy and know what you like, pick another resteraunt!!
My wife and our friends have been coming to Jrdans for 13 years. In that time frame I cannot remember one of us getting a bad meal, or poor service. If you love seafood this is the place to visit. The fresh scallops are some of the best I've ever had, and there are no better hush puppies on the island or in Moorehead City. Portions are large, and prices are reasonable.
A must visit restaurant
Recently ate at Jordan's for the first time. The food was good but not great. The fried flounder did not resemble flounder since it was 2" thick. ??? The stuffed flounder was very good and the portion was ample ($16). The green beans were tasteless and seemed as if they were canned. The hush puppies were yummy. Since this is the only restaurant I have been to on the island (so far), I cannot say I would recommend it over any other. It was OK.
