Honestly the best fried chicken, cole slaw, hush puppies and NC BBQ I've ever had, and I've had a lot all over the country. We got a family pack of fried chicken, family pack of BBQ with all the sides for 4 adults,2 kids for only like $18. !!! Amazing. The owner has food allergies, so they cook their food in healthy oils, and don't use preservatives - all natural - and don't fry it or cook it in anything that could have touched fish (great for me, with lots of food allergies).If I could move them to Richmond, VA where I live, I would. Friendly service, great locals in the restaurant. I can't wait to go back. Forget the beach, I want to go to Rolands!

Best BBQ in Eastern NC: Every locality thinks it has a great BBQ place. This one is truly it. It makes Wilbers, King's, and Parkers look pretty sad. Remember, this is eastern NC. To us BBQ means pulled pork with a vinegar-based sauce. Don't overlook the fried oysters, ribs, and shrimp. Chicken is only ok.
