User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsGood NC Barbecue. Eastern NC barbecue is unique, so don't expect the same thing as other parts of the country. It's just different. The pork is great, the whole chicken is great, the hush puppies are awesome. Biggest nitpick: For the love of all that's holy could you please add some actual vegetables to the menu? Maybe some green beans? A baked potato? Something that doesn't end with 'salad' (even though it isn't a salad) or something not deep fried.
User Rating: 3 out of 5 starsCool authentic down home atmosphere, good food, good prices, good service. Not crazy about the BBQ, I'm a yankee in disquise and just not crazy about the Carolina BBQ, too vinegar-y for my taste. {Don't stone me!} :)

The Best in the East: I had my first taste of true Eastern Carolina-style BBQ at Moore's over 13 years ago while visiting from NJ. Since then, I have tried in vain to re-create their unique taste and failed, so I moved to New Bern last summer! Now I can (and have) eaten there on a regular basis. If you're in the area, or even if you're not, it's worth the trip! The BBQ is terrific and the service is friendly and fast!
