Excellent BBQ, Subtle smoke flavor in the moist succulent chicken. The sauce was so good I had to take some home (central Florida).
The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I came here with a sport-touring motorcycle group and they readily made accomodations for us and our gear. Fat Buddies is on my list (along with the Dillard House) to return to when I am up this way.
My fiancee and I just ate at the Fat Buddies in Franklin, N.C. I ordered a steak, baked potatoe, and mac-n-cheese. My steak was fatty and greasy and had barely any flavor. The potatoe was dry and I had to pay an extra $2.00 for it. I'm used to paying extra for a loaded baked potatoe; this one, however, came with just butter and sour cream. He ordered their "famous" ribs, a baked potatoe, and cole slaw. There was barely any meat on the bones of the ribs, his potatoe was the same as mine, dry and over-all unsatisfactory. The cole slaw was mediocre. The next time I want to spend $70.00 on a meal, I'll go to a 5 star restaurant, maybe then it'll be worth it. the only good thing I can say about Fat Buddies is that their wait staff was helpful and friendly.
out standing bbq, and first rate sides as well. be mindful of the hours of opperation though, great ribs and a devine blackeyed pea recipe. TOP NOTCH QUE!
