User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsHave used the bakery many times in the past, and had usually been happy with their products. Until..........Oct 17 my daughter got married and ordered her cake from them.
It started on that morning....calling to find out when cake would be ready, they tell us that they have been "slammed" by a festival in town and they just don't know when the cake will be ready. My daughter should not have this worry on her special day!!
Well finally they get it ready and it is picked up and brought to the church. IT WAS AWFUL!!!! The cake was lopp sided, it was supposed to have brown dots, they were butterscotch colored and not uniform in size. It was just down right ugly and not only that, but it was dry and tastless.
The grooms cake was supposed to be strawberry cake but it was yellow.
They have been rude, ugly, and totally unwilling to help us remedy this situation. We have not even received an apology.
Needless to say....this is my very last visit to Whitmans! There were 200 guests at her wedding and believe me, we told everyone who asked where the cake came from!!
User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsAs as ex-pastry chef, I was amazed by this place and make sure to go out of my way to stop there everytime! The variety is incredible!!! I am in Heaven when i walk in the door, and usually go out loaded with food. Their spicy cheese wafers and homemade yeast rolls alone are worth the trip. This is a dying art and we are lucky it's still there. Love you Whitman'!!!
