I've dined there six or seven times. Always good. We made reservations for eleven last Saturday. I bragged all day to my brothers, sisters, spouses. We arrived on time and were seated. We had to ask the server for his name and the specials. We ordered drinks, mostly sweet tea and water.... a couple beers. I asked for a glass of Malbec with my meal. The drinks were delivered and orders placed by 7:15. He brought my wine immediately (not with the meal as requested). Two people ordered steaks - one rare and one medium rare - and one person ordered curried chicken (he asked how it should be seasoned and she saif "lightly"). We waited 45 minutes. The meals finally came. Both steaks were medium well. The curried chicken was extra spicy. The tea NEVER got refilled. I drank the wine with my meal and could not find the server to order a re-fill until I finally waived him down from across the room. He brought the second glass and never asked if anyone wanted a refill on tea even though the glasses were nearly empty and completely devoid of ice. On the positive side, the lamb and the trout were good. The pasta was average. But, needless to say, I was embarassed by the poor service and the improperly cooked entrees. A 20 percent gratuity was added to each bill. It's LuLu's for me next visit to Sylva, or maybe 532 Main.
Great Place. They have fantastic sushi on Wednesday nights. The shrimp and grits are to die for. My husband got the steak. Best he has ever had. Make sure you save room for one of those decadent desserts made by the owner. Spring Street is a must visit. We will definitely be back over and over again.
Locally grown, fresh ingredients resulted in great flavor. We had the shrimp pasta dish. The flavors were subtle but very distinct. You could actually taste and enjoy each component of this dish. Portions were very generous and if we hadn't had the brie/crostini (excellent) we might have had room for desert. We will certainly revisit next time we are in the area.
