Wonderful food at Doc's. My only complaint is that we recently made reservations and our reservations were not honored. A band was playing that night and the place was crowded. The hostess told us that two other couples picked up the reservation sign on our table, sat down and refused to move. (We were actually a few meintes early for our reservation.) We were told to look around and grab a table when one became available. Since everyone was staying to listen to the music, no table became available. The staff seemed unconcerned about our situation. We went somewhere else to eat that night. We were very dissappointed because we were looking forward to the food and we have a friend in the band. Doc's either needs to make sure reserved tables are available or not take reservations.

Doc has your Cajun Prescription!: Having anly experienced Cajun cooking through recipe books and in the homes of several displaced Cajun, I am not the expert on this quisine I would like to be. That being said, I guess I approach Cajun from purely "does it taste good or not" more than, "does it measure up to my favorite place in Lafayette". With that admission out of the way, I am happy to report that Doc's dishes are very good! My only quibble is that portions are sane, and I am a big guy so sometimes I am not through enjoying the food when it runs out-however, that is a very small quibble and probably for the best!

We have tried again and again with Doc's and have finally realized it is not that good of a restaurant. It has great atomsphere and it is a fun place to hear live music and have a few drinks, but we do not recommend eating there, the food is always disappointing.

Richard M. 2/28/09 Having just experienced Doc's last night, I must say I agree with the review by Joe B. My wife and I, and a number of friends who were also there, thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the music AND the food. The oysters in my sandwich were about the best I have ever had and the she-crab soup was wonderful!
