Katsu and Jing have the best sushi restaurant ever!. The sushi is fresh and delicious; Katsu is very creative and always has something different and exciting on the menu. I enjoy being able to watch and talk to Katsu as he prepares the sushi. He and his wife Jing make you feel welcome and comfortable. If you have not tried their sushi, you are missing a treat. It's worth a road trip to eat Katsu's sushi! Don't be fooled by other restaurant's with the name "Wasabi" in it, there is only one Wasabi Japanese Restaurant and it's located in Spartanburg SC. Tell them Fatima sent you!

The best sushi in town! Katsu and Jing make you feel welcome with their friendly greetings and occasional special treats for you to try. The spicy squid salad and crab salad are the best! And no one can touch Katsu when it comes to his sushi. We are regulars and would recommend Wasabi to anyone.

An experience for the sight, smell, taste, & soul!: Wasabi is an AUTHENTIC japanise restaraunt and sushi bar that is BY FAR the best experience you will find this side of New York.

Owned by Kudzu (pronounced like that stupid vine the Cub Scouts brought over years back that have made havoc on all our trees) and Jing. This couple took 3 months to gut the building and do all the work themselves. The woodwork is beautiful and they have created quite an atmosphere.

This is one of the few restaraunts that I can say I TRUELY feel at home at. Kudzu and Jing greet us at the door by name. Now this does not suprise me since Cathy and I have been going there since its opening (and used to go to the restaraunt that he used to be the sushi cheff before branching out on his own). However, since we go there once a week, I have seen them greet new people one week, and when they return the next, they too are greeted by name. They truely get to know their guests, and make the experience one of "Welcome to the family".

As far as the Sushi goes... there is NO BETTER within 100 miles! Kudzu gets his fish flown in FRESH, DAILY. His selection is wonderful and he is always bringing in new things to try. Many times, he will get his fish straight from Japan. You can get things here that you can not normaly experience in the states.

They also have a way of helping those who are not quite sure of the whole "raw fish experience" to get comfortable with the idea, and inevitably, the new guest will try it, and find something that they REALLY ENJOY! I took some really good friends from Atlanta here, and the husband was really not into the idea at the time. After the first time, we have returned every time they are in town. If you have an open mind, you will find that sushi CAN be some of the best food you have ever eaten.

For those who prefer their food cooked (come on...try SOMETHING new...) Wasabi has a complete menu. Their presentation and expertise at REAL TRADITIONAL Japanese is unbelieveable! They do not try to "Americanze" their food like many Japanese restaraunts do. Everything from their appetizers, soups, and main dishes are wonderfuly preppared and delightful. If you want to try a bit of everything, I would highly suggest their "Bento Box".

If you are looking for a very comfortable place to try a different culture, Wasabi is the place for you. I Gaurentee you will not be disapointed!

Just tell them that "Mr. Hands" sent you there! :)
