After having eaten here for 30 years the last 5 were at best iffy. Today was the final. I don't know what has happened but it is not good. The food is poor food bar quality. The pancit was so over cooked it was in tiny pieces, the fried rice was refrigerator cold in the middle, the hot tea was so strong it was almost black(we used to get it in a nice pot with tea bag), the salt and pepper shakers were filthy the sugar container was stuck to the table and I don't even want to discuss the soy sauce bottle, lunch special menu was also filthy to point it was sticky. We wondered why at 12:30 in the afternoon there were only 6 people in the restaurant, now we know why. In their day the food was excellent, the place clean and the staff friendly. Not so any more and it make me sad. The lumpia used to be to die for, that too has fallen off.
My parents and I used to eat there on a fairly regular basis back in the 90's and the food was outstanding from the Shanghai Lumpia and the Lumpia Egg Rolls, to the Tapa Pork and Terayaki Beef. I moved to California in 2000 and have not found anything comparable since. When I make my next trip to Charleston, I am going there and hope they are just as good as I remember.
I love this place! Most of the time my husband and I call ahead and order! The egg rolls are out of this world!!

The owner had retired and the son and daughter took over. That is what had happened.
