| About: | An inexpensive American-style cafe open for lunch and dinner, it features a full bar, spicy hot toddies, and live evening entertainment. The unpretentious store front hides a gem of a dining establishment by the Old City Market. It's a great place to relax with specialty coffees and some of Charleston's most delectable desserts such as Tollhouse Cookie Pie or Turtle Cheesecake. A huge slice of the Heath Bar Cake is plenty for two people. Popular with the late-night crowd when it gets really busy, this is a "must" for both locals and visitors exploring the city. - Natasha Lawrence |

The desserts are fantastic, and they make a great chocolate martini. It can be a bit on the pricey side, but the location and the reputation balance that out. Service can be a little sketchy sometimes, and the seating is very limited. Nonetheless, a must-visit location for a trip to Charleston. This is where I take all my friends when they come to visit the city.
Kaminsky's is an excellent first date place or a place to take your parents for dessert. The environment is very casual and a bit loud but the service is excellent and the environment is very hip. They have a great selection of drinks from teas, to mochas to martinis. I recommend this for a fun couple of hours of drinking and chatting.
***Awesome prices for Desserts***: The best place in Charleston for desserts!!! Their cakes, sundaes, drinks, and coffees are all awesome! My fiance' and I go quite often for the hot fudge brownie sundae... It's more than enough for two, and its only $5. You can't beat that anywhere. The fudge is hot, the brownie is hot, rich, and moist. Also, my older sis first introduced me to Kaminsky's in 2001 and my sis, her friend and I ordered a slice of cake each. First of all the I ordered the Mountain of Chocolate cake....its was way too big for one person to eat. I couldn't even eat half and I still paid about $5. The prices are unbelievable, and the desserts are awesome!
