I've lived in South Carolina for a bit over a year and hadn't visited any historical places. While I was planning a trip to Charleston, SC and using the web to find places of interest I found Drayton Hall's web page. They are giving free admission for Teachers, Military, Firefighters, Police, EMS. Includes all activities and an official ID must be shown at the gate. I figured I would check it out, you can't go wrong with free! I spent nearly two hours on the property listening to the tour guide explain the Plantation's past, touring the house, walking the land, and checking out the gift shop. It is definitely a must see. I enjoyed it. The tour guide was very friendly and informative!
