    Super Casual, Family Atmosphere, Awesome Food.

    I ate at Gilligan's a few weeks ago... after being told it's where the locals go for good seafood. The recommendation was right on. The food was great, the portion size was huge and the staff was friendly. I will definitely return on my next trip to Charleston!

    We will definitely be coming back!: My husband and I ate at the Gilligan's on Johns Island in May 2006 while staying at a nearby campground and we are planning to make the restaurant our first stop when we return in May of this year. We sat in a booth in the bar area to avoid a wait and were pleasantly surprised. The decor was fun, the service was wonderful, and the food was FANTASTIC. This was the best meal of entire trip. Between the two of us, we sampled the shrimp dip (free with coupon), potato skins, shrimp and crabcakes, Gilligan's Stew (steamed shrimp, potatoes, onions, and sausage), and the hushpuppies. These were, by far, the best hushpuppies I have ever had anywhere! They were so good, we purchased a couple boxes of the mix to take home with us (which were also excellent at a later date). All of the food was great. I highly recommend Gilligan's and we can't wait to take our family there with us when we visit the Charleston area again.
