Let's just say the locals were standing out front, still dressed in their church clothes, when we stopped by on a Sunday. In the South, the 'after church' crowd indicates it's a GREAT place. And it was! We had the oyster sandwich and fish sandwich. Perfectly fried, not at all greasy. I give it two thumbs up! (P.S. It's not at all fancy, so certain people probably shouldn't go there, but the food and service were excellent!)
Hoskins is the Locals local. Their fried chicken is the best around, and their Friday lunch special (Calabash Shrimp plate lunch) is not to be missed. For value and quality, and a step back in time, Hoskins is not to be missed.
The food is great! The seafood is very flavorful and is not greasy at all. I eat at Hoskins every time I am vacationing in Myrtle Beach. The lunch specials are also very good and reasonable.

Read your review and I have a question. May seem a little odd....but you sound like the person to ask. I notice in the reviews there is a lot of talk about great fried chicken but also a lot of talk about seafood. Some of us are seafood lovers and others aren't. So my question is......is there a "fishy" smell to this restaurant? LOL. Seafood lovers welcome it, non-lovers don't. Any info is appreciated :) Kathy
