No temperature control in your room.

I have never heard of such. When my husband and I checked in, we felt well & healthty, by the time I checked out 3 days later, I was taking Theraflu with a stuffy nose, coughs and a horrible headache. Also, the breakfast buffet was ridiculously overpriced, $14.00 per person. But don't be fooled, there's a Atlanta Bread Co. on the same block. The breakfast there was awesome. I will say that the beds were very comfortable and yes, there were some updates to the rooms. The rooms were nicely remodeled.

No Southern hospitality here.: Hopefully, when the hotel undergoes its renovations (scheduled to start in October 2006), maybe the staff and service will get a makeover, too, because this Hyatt simply does not live up to its name.

The outside of the hotel is pretty, and the lobby is very dramatic, but the rooms are seriously outdated and bland. The TV was old, the climate control didn't have heat, and the TV Internet keyboard didn't work. Like I said, however, the rooms are getting redone soon.

I'm not some kind of prissy snob that complains all the time, but the service was absolutely horrible. The first night, a loud family was in the room next to us (a connecting room, no less), and we notified the front desk, asking also if we could have a non-connecting room. They did, but it was a smoking room.

No other rooms? On a Tuesday???

Next, the toilet's stopper chain broke. We called the front desk about it before we left that morning, and they assured us it would be taken care of. When we got back that night, not only was the toilet not fixed, but our room wasn't even touched! Bed was unmade, garbage was overflowing, and towels were still on the floor. We immediately called the front desk and informed them. I saw a housekeeper the next day and told her what happened. She said the do-not-disturb sign was on the door the whole day (I know it wasn't. It was on until about 11:30 that morning). But usually housekeeping swings back by later before they go home. At least, I thought that's what would happen. Obviously not.

When we came back from lunch the next day, the toilet was finally fixed, but the room wasn't made...again! Bed, garbage, towels, all untouched for TWO days now. I went to the front desk and told the shift manager, Ann Marie, and she would immediately remedy the problem. She offerred free breakfast, etc, which I declined. Within five minutes, housekeeping was at our room to do the bathroom (we were still in the room so no bed-making) with fruit and bottled water. Whoopee.

That night, I got back to the room at about 1:30. My fiancee, who's already asleep in the room, was woken up by a call from the front desk informing her she needs to pay the parking fee, and that they don't have a credit card by us. At 1:30 in the freaking morning!!! The lady was rather rude about it, as well.

After all this, we decided that the best remedy was for them to take the two movies and all the parking off our bill. Ann Marie had informed me at one point that they could do something about the parking. Later, however, I was told by another desk clerk that nothing could be done about the parking, because the garage was city-owned. Now, why would she misinform me about that? If you can't do anything about parking, tell me, and I'll forget about it.

Overall, this stay was absolutely terrible. Until the remodeling is done, I would highly recommend avoiding this hotel.

very good service: maybe it's a hyatt thing, but the service is really good here. every time i walk out of my room and see one of their workers, they always address me by "hi, mr. [name]"...they are very helpful and they are currently renovating some of their rooms, and so i think their rooms are going to get a lil' better.
