| About: | The legend goes that a crew member named Jack was mistakenly left behind on an island near Murrell's Inlet with dozens of casks of rum buried by Blackbeard and his men. Soon he became "Drunken Jack." Right on the water, this casual restaurant offers very fresh grilled, blackened or sauteed seafood. Its more interesting dishes include calamari, frogs legs, grouper, oyster stew, she crab soup and conch fritters. For the landlubber, they offer steaks, prime rib and chicken. There is a fairly extensive wine list. Leave room for the Black Joke pie, a truly serious dessert. |

Great food and atmosphere! We arrived on a Sunday at 4:30 pm and had a 1 1/2 hour wait for a party of 12. There is a nice back deck to wait on overlooking the inlet where free popcorn is served. You can also order an appetizer or drink here. Upon getting our table, everyone was given cold iced water and hushpuppies with honey butter. These were delicious!!!!! The salad bar comes with the entrees, which are wonderful. Many delicious seafood choices. Definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone coming to Myrtle Beach.
Was very disappointed in last visit to Drunken Jack's. The Maui Maui was not prepared well. Both my wife and I felt that it had not been cooked properly. My wife was ill for the rest of the evening and I did not feel well either. I was also not pleased with the reaction of the staff when we complained about the preparation of our meal. They indicated that we were trying to get a free meal! I think that the best approach a fine restaurant can take to a complaint about a meal is to offer a coupon for a complimentary meal at a later date. This way the customer does not feel cheated and the restaurant gets another chance to show their wares!
My husband and I, along with a friend of mine visited Drunken Jack's tonight for the first time and I thought that the food was great! The best seafood at the beach. I have seen some of the reviews about it being pricey but it is cheaper than going to one of those nasty seafood buffets and the seafood is so fresh and cooked to perfection! Our service was great too! I will DEFINITELY be back when I am at the beach!
