    Thanks for a great stay at Crown Reef. My husband and
    I were in building 2 9th floor. Everything was so nice. We had one call to make since our TV remote did not work,in less than 10 minutes we had a working
    one. Received a call to check on housekeeping,which we had no problem with our room nor linens. We did
    not get to try the pools,since we were there with the cold breeze. Hope to try this place again on
    warmer days..

    I was not aware of all of the issues indicated on the reviews. We actually stayed at the hotel this weekend. They must have made some serious changes. The staff was very nice, from check in to security to the cleaning staff. We were in Tower II, so I can't say what Tower I and III were like. but, Tower II was clean, well stocked and very comfortable. I did not see any type of bugs around the pool or inside the room. The elevator(s) were prompt. Nothing was broken or dirty and the price was great. I would stay here again until I see different.

    I have never been so disgusted or felt so "duped" with a place than I was with this place!! For around $200 a night, this place was a complete dump - it might as well have been a Motel 6! Their web site is gorgeous, but the reality of the place is absolutely terrible. 1st off, they fail to mention on their site that you must check in across the street of 4 lanes of traffic (there is no cross walk). 2nd, the room is nothing like the picture shown on their site (it might have been that way 30 years ago!). Our door was broken, the carpet filthy and damp, the couch ripped, 1 of the light bulbs was out, the tile looked as if it never seen a mop before or cleaner it its' life, the tub felt as if you were going to fall through, a hole under the carpet, water from rain was flooding from outside of the room in through the bottom of the door, the phone did not receive calls half of the time, and the bathroom light never worked (we called 4 times before someone finally came in to fix it, only to say he fixed it but it was not fixed). The room smelled rotten and it wasn't even the room that I had originally booked! At night, there were cockroaches by the thousands crawling all around the pool that were so big we could see them from our balcony. And speaking of the pools - we did not see anywhere close to being 20 pools or fountains, as their website states. The elevators seem to pick and choose when they want to work and not work - oh, and if the power goes out - forget it - it takes them forever to fix anything. The hotel is not located near anything at all, so don't think you can walk to anything but 1 restaurant. The front desk person was rude when we called to say our "nice and new" LCD tv did not work (they said "no one else has called in to complain that their tv's do not work"), they were rude when we called to say the light did not work in the bathroom (4 times we had to call and it still never worked the whole time we were there), and they left me on hold to where I had to finally hang up when I made a request to stay in the room longer than the check out time so we could at least enjoy a little more of the beach before we left. They finally called back to state they could not allow us to stay, because they were fully booked - which was a complete lie (they still have rooms available...which I can see why!). The only thing I can say nice about the place is that they did have a few employees (very few...) that still remembered what customer service is about and were friendly and nice. Oh, and I can say the beach was nice too, but that has nothing to do with the so-called "resort". I sincerely suggest you look elsewhere to stay. I truly regret choosing to stay there, when there were other places that we saw while we were in the area that were more nice and conveniently located that were in the same price range - if not less. I would have moved to one of the other places, if it hadn't been for the fact you have to pay a non-refundable deposit and they will charge you for leaving before your reserved check-out date. Believe me, there are plenty of other places to stay that you should choose over staying here!! This place doesn't deserve a star at all!!!!

    wow, if it was that bad i wonder what the hotel management said or did about this; if it as bad as it has been described this place should shut down; i'll try to cancel my booking;

    I am planning on staying here. Have never been to MB before - where should I stay if I cancel this reservation.
