I have never been so disgusted or felt so "duped" with a place than I was with this place!! For around $200 a night, this place was a complete dump - it might as well have been a Motel 6! Their web site is gorgeous, but the reality of the place is absolutely terrible. 1st off, they fail to mention on their site that you must check in across the street of 4 lanes of traffic (there is no cross walk). 2nd, the room is nothing like the picture shown on their site (it might have been that way 30 years ago!). Our door was broken, the carpet filthy and damp, the couch ripped, 1 of the light bulbs was out, the tile looked as if it never seen a mop before or cleaner it its' life, the tub felt as if you were going to fall through, a hole under the carpet, water from rain was flooding from outside of the room in through the bottom of the door, the phone did not receive calls half of the time, and the bathroom light never worked (we called 4 times before someone finally came in to fix it, only to say he fixed it but it was not fixed). The room smelled rotten and it wasn't even the room that I had originally booked! At night, there were cockroaches by the thousands crawling all around the pool that were so big we could see them from our balcony. And speaking of the pools - we did not see anywhere close to being 20 pools or fountains, as their website states. The elevators seem to pick and choose when they want to work and not work - oh, and if the power goes out - forget it - it takes them forever to fix anything. The hotel is not located near anything at all, so don't think you can walk to anything but 1 restaurant. The front desk person was rude when we called to say our "nice and new" LCD tv did not work (they said "no one else has called in to complain that their tv's do not work"), they were rude when we called to say the light did not work in the bathroom (4 times we had to call and it still never worked the whole time we were there), and they left me on hold to where I had to finally hang up when I made a request to stay in the room longer than the check out time so we could at least enjoy a little more of the beach before we left. They finally called back to state they could not allow us to stay, because they were fully booked - which was a complete lie (they still have rooms available...which I can see why!). The only thing I can say nice about the place is that they did have a few employees (very few...) that still remembered what customer service is about and were friendly and nice. Oh, and I can say the beach was nice too, but that has nothing to do with the so-called "resort". I sincerely suggest you look elsewhere to stay. I truly regret choosing to stay there, when there were other places that we saw while we were in the area that were more nice and conveniently located that were in the same price range - if not less. I would have moved to one of the other places, if it hadn't been for the fact you have to pay a non-refundable deposit and they will charge you for leaving before your reserved check-out date. Believe me, there are plenty of other places to stay that you should choose over staying here!! This place doesn't deserve a star at all!!!!
I have stay at this motel for several years with my family. This will be the last time I give them my money. I read some of the comments posted about this motel before I booked this room, but I didnt take it serious, what a mistake that was. The place has gone down hill so much. I would not bathe my dogs in the tub,the carpet is filty, the kitchen is a mess, the matress is nasty!!! Also, it will not do any good to complain to the front desk about the room service or any problems you have. They are just there for the pay check!
The website for this hotel was excellent, but when we arrived we were disappointed. First was the smell of urine in the parking garage and the 15 minute waite for an elevator. When we walked into the room, the area where the beds were, was decent with the promised LCD tv. However, once you went beyond that, there was much disappointment. The kitchen area was completely out-dated and the living area had an older television that didn't work. The first and only attempt to use the oven ended with the smoke alarms going off and a very burnt pizza after 5 minutes at a low temp. The outside of the oven was extremely hot and would burn you if you touched it. We frequently heard smoke alarms going off throughout our visit. The room was not all that clean (stuff stuck to the pictures, dirt in corners, and chocolate still on the blanket from the last person). The water features where great as promised, the only downside is that there was no security. As a result we saw many problems with people drinking and smoking in the actual pool and lazy river, yes, while they were in the water. We were given wrist bands to where at the pool, but no one ever wore them. We didn't because we couldn't find security to issue new ones when we wanted to go back to the pool. There were many unsupervised children reaping havoc and not a lot of cleaning in the pool area. This is such a large hotel, that even with all the pools, it was very crowded. The last straw was when we were awaken at 8 am by construction being done outside our door. We checked out three days into our stay and spent the remainder of our vacation at a different hotel. For 30 more a night at the new hotel, we got granite countertops, new appliances, the best beds ever, and peace and quiet.
