We discovered this place right after it opened and ate there every other night in the beginning. Then you could walk in and sit right down and the rest of your table would be empty. Now even with a reservation, be prepared to wait. The cucumber rolls are SOOOO delicious as is the soy salad dressing-- I always order an extra bowl and pour it on my rice. They just added a new section on which is beautiful. Depending on the waiter, you might have slow service, especially on a Friday or Saturday night. It's so worth it though. And no, you dont' sit around and chat at your table at a hibachi restaurant when you pay the check. People are waiting in the lobby just like you did and you know YOU would be irritated if someone was hanging out at your table while you were waiting.
We went to Mimi's for lunch today. After waiting for more than 40 minutes and seeing other tables had been served even though the guests came after us, we had to check with the waitress and were told we would be served in a couple minutes. After the chef finally came, one of us mentioned to him that we had been waited for long time and we were really hungry. The chef's response really surprised me. He said, "You guys can leave if you are not happy". Then he said " Complain to the white guy".I guess the white guy is either the manager or the person in charge. As I really did not want to get into a fighting situation, I kind of reassured him that we were not mad, and we were just hungry. During the whole cooking session, he seemed really mad at us. There were not many customer there today and I just don't understand why he is so mad.I still left tips with the bill payment, but I really don't think they deserve it.And it is definitely NOT a place we will recommend to our friends in the future.
good: the foods good but you have 3 sit down japanesse places to choose from and this is not my first choice
