small dishes and sushi only way to go...some of their sushi dishes are unique and have a "local" flair... entrees are ok for the most part, but not very exciting imo...service is usually pretty good...have a few younger employees on the wait staff...one of the best in Anderson and one of Anderson's nicest restaurants in general...and non-hibachi which there are 4 or so of in town so either drive out to westside or take a boat...

My wife and I live in Georgia but have a house on Lake Hartwell where we spend most of our weekends. We look forward to our trips to the lake because we know we will get to dine at Nami and it is always an enjoyable experience. Last night, we went to dinner and were greeted so warmly at the door and had a delightful service. Our waitress was very helpful and suggested many new dishes that we have never tried but will be sure to on our next visit. The only thing that made our experience unpleasant was an incident between a chef and a few servers. We were seated at a table near the sushi bar, and while waiting on our next dish to arrive, the female sushi chef pulled a few servers aside and began to yell at them in front of a sushi bar and restaurant full of customers. We overheard this commotion and could not believe that a person who should be in a position of helping would treat her fellow co-workers this way, and especially in front of numerous customers. It was unprofessional to say the least! My wife and I could not believe the way she talked to these young men and women. If they had made a mistake, it would be more professional and more polite to take them to the side and talk to them. This would have been the better solution for the situation because as a customer and bystander we felt EXTREMELY uncomfortable by all of this!

Like I said, the food is EXCELLENT, the manager was delightful, and the service was wonderful...and it always has been! We will be back because we absolutely adore Nami, however we hope to not witness that kind of scene again because it made us uncomfortable and our otherwise perfect night seem unpleasant.

Excellent Japanese cuisine!! You may find better in this area one day but not anytime soon! Best sushi around, even better than most places in Greenville! I am not overly impressed with the building, of course, living in the area I know what hurdles they would encounter trying to renovate the outside. They did a good job decorating the inside. Excellent choice for traditional (non-hibachi) style japanese food.
