We moved to Seneca from Ft Lauderdale in 1974. I was 14. My daughter now attends Clemson University. She came home recently(10 miles) and wanted the family to eat together. Great i thought. When she arrived home, she said " Lets go to Time Drive In." So we went. She and I had hamburger steaks w/fries cheese, gravy and onions of course, my 13 yr old son had a cheeseburger plate w/fries, gravy on the side. Mom had a grilled
chicken sandwich. It was all great after these years. One day I intend to introduce my grandchildren to the delights of one the great hambuger joints of the south.
Gathering Place for Young & Old: My son ran track for Seneca and then went to Clemson University. When he was in high school, Time Drive In Restaurant was a meeting place after every game and most of the practices. It was not only for the track team, but every sports team. The parents went there almost as often. The food is excellent and we moved from Ohio to Seneca, SC so we had never heard of fries with gravy. What a treat. The restaurant is small, but that's good. You can see everyone when you walk in the door. My son took all his Clemson buddies there and some of them were from very wealthy families and they said he was the best food they had ever tasted. I live in Savannah, GA now, but hope to get back to Seneca soon and will certainly be sure Time Drive-In is on my schedule.
Great Food: One of the best small diners around
