User Rating: 5 out of 5 starsCircle M BBQ provides generous portions of Eastern style pulled pork in a family atmosphere. Their ribs (dry rub prepared over coals) are the finest I have eaten. The gentleman who cooks, Mr. Jimmy Brown, is to be commended for his old-fashioned, time consuming preparation and cooking. He is truely the heart and soul of this fine establishment. The owner, Marion Martin is friendly, and greets his customers like he has known them all his life (which in some cases, he has).
This is definitely a fine place to eat and one to which you can bring your family, without being concerned with the atmosphere.
I have used Circle M to cater both lunch and dinner at several area schools. Marion and Jimmy never disappoint in quality, quantity, or service. All the school personel rave about the BBQ and ask to have them back for the next Faculty/Staff dinner!-

Best in the land: I am a KCBS certified BBQ judge and a native Tar Heel. This is the best eastern Carolina vinegar-pepper pulled pork I've ever found, even in competition. Marion is a purist and cooks over hickory coals only; no gas or electricity. Ribs are a dry rub and are superior. I drive 40 miles to dine here. It is definitely a 40 mile BBQ. Maybe too spicy for folks with reflux and other gastrointestinal problems
