User Rating: 1 out of 5 starsWe were told of Brushy Creek Bar-B-Q by a friend, and we decided to try it out on a Saturday night a few weeks ago. After living in Memphis for 4 years, we had grown to love eating great Memphis barbecue, and we had hoped to find some good barbeque in upstate South Carolina. Boy, were we disappointed. Our first clue should have been the crowd, or lack thereof. We we arrived at 6:00pm on a Saturday night, there was literally only one other couple in the restaurant. When we asked the server the reason why, we were told that there was a big concert in town that night. Shocker, but that wasn't the reason. The reason that there was no one else there on a Saturday night was that the barbeque was absolutely the worst barbeque that we have ever tasted - hands down. The sauce was horrible, the pork was beat to a pulp, the ribs were the cheap country style ribs (super tough), and to top it off the meal was not cheap. The only one that enjoyed the meal was our 3 year old - he liked the prepackaged corn dog and rice crispy treat...

Woman you must be crazy! yea they dont have many customers come in and eat but they cater ALOT, other wise how do you think they would stay open??? there barbeque is some of the best I have ever had, and you must be mistakin if you think the sauce is bad...or maybe you are just used to vinegar based...there sauce is wonderful and always has been, they have had the same recipe for it since they opened in 1980 something. There ribs are delicious as well, they are very big and fiiling too. Also, there barbeque is the cheapest around, everyone elses is either $8.95 or $9.95 and brushy creeks is only $7.95 (and theres is of the best quality) and name one restaurant where you get a corn dog that doesn't come pre-packaged! Don't bad mouth Brushy Creek. Me and family have enjoyed eating there for years. The food is delicious, the servers are very nice, and i think you went to the wrong restaurant because what you described doesn't sound like brushy creek's food at all.
