    La Bastide is the best kept secret in the area! Only about 30 minutes from Greenville but its like being in a different world! The staff is wonderful and the servers are the best! We loved the Chateaubriand and the creme brulee is the best I've ever had! I would recommend a reservation on a weekend because it was a bust place when we were there!

    My husband and I were there on a recent Friday night. While we were not staying in the Inn, we understood we could go there for dinner. We walked in and were surprised that there was no maitre d' desk or vestibule--we walked right into the restaurant, itself. A gentleman approached and asked us if we had a reservation; we said 'no' and he offered to seat us. We were given menus and our glasses of water were filled. A waiter came by and listed the specials (which were really just extended descriptions of what was already on the menu). We then waited for at least 30 minutes with no one appraoching us to take our orders, ask if we wanted a glass of wine--nothing. I said to my husband, "For these prices, I would expect impeccable service." Unfortunately we were not receiving it that evening so we left.

    Great Food, Great Views, Great Chefs, Great staff, Great Inn... all around great place. Highly reccomend. This is a destination to impress your dinner guest with. Expect great service & quality with everything they do.
