The Wagon Wheel has been a favorite restaurant of mine since I first went there in 1978. I live far away so I don't get there nearly as often as I would like. The food has always been top quality and prepared to perfection. Be sure to try the fried squash. The atmosphere is fine, the servers friendly and very helpful, and the place is immaculate. Food portions are quite generous and prices very reasonable. You will probably like it as much as I do. Try it.
In the style of the neighborhood diner, this restaurant is what you expect from a hard-working Greek family. They serve lots of delicious food and plenty of it on your plate. From Greek dishes like pastitsio to southern favorites like fried flounder with hush puppies, there is something for everybody here. An extensive salad bar is offered in the evenings, with lunch specials that are served up quick for business lunches. On Sundays, get there by 11:30 for the huge buffet or you'll end up standing in lines that extend out the front door and into the parking lot. But your wait won't be long as they've added extra dining rooms. Only 2 things that would make this restaurant better is: 1) if they were open for breakfast, and 2) if they made the effort to offer homemade desserts of the quality to match their meals. When they pay attention to dessert, then they will get a 5th star from me. I definitely recommend this restaurant at mealtime.
