nice hideaway: I liked this place becasue it was in the cut, tucked away...options for live performers, kinda quiet where you can read or just chill with your date and talk about nothing.
The Best Coffeehouse is Rock Hill Roasting Co.: The Rock Hill Roasting Co. is, by far, the best coffeehouse in Rock Hill. Yes, it has excellent coffee. But the entire experience makes it worth a visit at least once a week. The staff is very attentive -- once you place your order, it's brought to you. Nobody calls you back to the counter and you surely don't have to take a number.
The atmosphere is unsurpassed. They feature exhibits by local artists and rotate their displays monthly. The dining room is multi-level so you can choose your level of intimacy. And finally there's a patio outdoors where they show movies in the summer. The patio is also a great spot to park if you've got kids or a stroller. Most Thursday and Friday nights they have local musicians as well. If you need a quiet place for business, they're a Wi-Fi hot spot. The food goes beyond muffins and cake. They have locally made granola that you can order with fruit, granola, or with milk. They have tons of original desserts, like Guinness lager cake -- soooo good. Plus you can order a sandwich, salad, or chicken chili anytime of day. If you're like me, sometimes you need a reuben at 10:30a. And I've never tried a wine there that I didn't enjoy.
Basically, every time I bring a friend there for the first time, they're hooked. They rave about the place, the food, and especially the atmosphere. The only problem is that their street visibility is poor. So you would never accidentally find yourself there. But you should definitely make an effort to check it out. They are right off Main Street in the same building as the Rock Hill Club. But you can access their parking lot off of Black Street (across from the library/courthouse). Be prepared, their prices are right in line with other upscale coffeehouses. But it's definitely worth it.
