Camp Thunderbird

I went withmy school just last week.The experience was amazing. when you get back you are so tird but it is worth it. The zip line is Amazing!!!!!!!!! All of the camp counselors are understanding. if you get homesick you can call home too. All of them take care of you whether you are sick, or need medicine, they will help you. you learn so much. you learn that you won't be homesick because they keep you so busy! great organization

Incredible: The absolute best camp in the world. Our family has been a part of Thunderbird for over 10 years and from our experience and observations it is without a doubt the best camp in North Carolina and probably the best in the US. Campers come from many different countries and states. Camp Thunderbird was voted best overnight camp by Charlotte Parent Magazine. They have many activities to chose from as well as a goal/ achievement program called the bandana program. It is the best atmosphere you can put your child in. The staff truely cares about your child and their safety and all the staff go through a week of staff training. Most of the Junior Counselors have completed a 4 week CIT program which develops leadership as well as counseling skills. It is the most fun time your child can have and will enrich them in so many ways. They will grow in body, mind, and spirit just like the YMCA mission says. And since it is a YMCA camp you can trust it. Sending your child to camp is an amazing experience and if you want to give them the best possible camp expereince send them to Thunderbird.
