I've enjoyed visiting this place for a while due to the fact that everyone is friendly and it is really laid back. The show is pretty good as well. Lately I've been disappointed though by the amount of kids that are coming in, many of which are very clearly under the age of 18. Once the dancing starts, it's pretty much just a bunch of horny high school students grinding and slobbing on each other.

I have been going to The Hideaway for almost 2 years now. At first, it seemed like a really cool gay bar to go and meet new friends and hang out. After about 4 months of going there, the rules started to change and they began to let just anyone in (because the owners want to make money for their other bar). I bought 3 pitchers of 'Michelle's Special' one night, the first price was twenty one dollars even, the second pitcher was 25 bucks, and the third was a whopping twenty eight dollars. I think it is unfair (and probably unlawful) to charge 3 different prices on the same drink in one night. I've also been told that once you come inside, you can't go to your car more than once, or you are not allowed back in. After an hour of being there, on basically EVERY Saturday night, the toilets in the women's bathroom are overflowing and disgusting. The male owner hits on the customers (whom are mostly lesbians) and it is a very uncomfortable environment. I refuse to support The Hideaway any further, and will find somewhere else to have fun (because it's nearly impossible there). The drag show... sometimes great, at least the Queen performers are. Some of the Kings are amazing, but some are just there to make enough money to buy cigarettes. You can tell some are terribly rehearsed, and do not enjoy what they are doing. The Hideaway should NOT claim to be a gay bar, if it is going to be based on getting straight college kids to blow their rent money on outrageously overpriced drinks.

You can go to your car, or anywhere else for that matter, as much as you like. I've left, went and got food, came back, went to pick someone up, came back, and went in and out to my car several times. As for the changing drink prices, I'd guess you either had different bartenders, or you were cut a deal a couple of times. Sometimes if the bartenders are busy they just round the price down a little instead of trying to add up the price in their head. The toilets are bad, very true. I 'm not fond of the growing number of str8 college kids coming in either, but hey, as long as they don't bother anyone it wouldn't be right to hassle them. I mean, I wouldn't want someone to give me crap for being gay and in a "str8" bar.
