After reading the bad reviews I thought I'd give this restaurant a chance for redemption. Ok you live and learn! The restaurant looked like a dive, just a handful of customers we came in with a party of 8 ( BAM!! 18% grauity automatic) Ordered appetizers - fried shrimp, shuck'em yourself steamed oysters, crab cakes and hush puppies - not too bad. Dinner orders were salmon, (just ok) half a slab of glazed ribs (not enough bbq sauce and too dry of meat) Order gumbo soup (OMFG were there only three ingredients??? Tomato sauce, polish sausage and okra??? ) Sent it back. Then got the shrimp bisque (just thick white sauce) The only person who made out ordered a pitcher of BEER (watching his waste line) The total bill was $144 I could have thought of a lot of other places who would have worked harder for our business. Front door sign says, "WE SUPPORT OUR TROOPS". Granted they offered military discount, but only to immediate members of the party.Report AbuseWrite a comment ...

The food tasted l...See MoreI have been on the island and went here years ago and it was hoppin. It was friendly and really great. The food tasted local. Now all I eat from there is take out. I do adore the shrimp burger. I think it's alittle overpriced but you deal. Their fries are good, if you eat them right away and they aren't cold when you get them.
The place has changed I'm afraid. The service is lousy and the prices have increased to absurd levels. If you go, plan on at least two hours. The staff worries more about their gossip than they do good service. I had to get up twice and ask for a refill. The place only had a few customers when we attended. I guess the word is getting out that this place needs some work.06/14/09 -

We decided to move to Beaufort and during our most recent visits, the food has grown progressively worse. I made the mistake of ordering the lobster.. it was dry and doused in Old Bay, YUCK! This place has become a dump and the prices do not suit the quality of the place or food. Their fish aquariums by the tables are filthy too.
