I recently started bringing my baby boy to Dr. Herrmann. Her bedside manner is awesome. She came into the room, and before she even started checking my son, she sat down and we had a conversation. This is unheard of with doctors these days. She wanted to know all about him and how we'd been doing up to this point. She had hand-outs for all the topics we talked about so that I could remember everything when I got home. She was very nonjudgmental about my decision to go with an alternate shots schedule. She asked me to do my own research on fluoride to decide whether I wanted to give it to my baby, or not. She DID NOT assume she was God and tell me what I should or should not do, like most doctors. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Herrmann, and am SO glad we switched over to her!
Dr. Herrmann is great!: My wife and I have been taking our daughter to Dr. Herrmann since she was 7 mo. Dr. Herrmann is extremely attentive to our concerns and the specifics of our child's health and well-being. She has never been pushy with her opinions, or disdainfull of ours, and we have always left her office better informed, as she takes the time to explain the "why". She's one of the few health experts with whom we have interacted, that treats us like intelligent equals, all the while being well informed herself on the latest news and developments in health. We'll continue to take our daughter to Dr. Herrmann until we move from this city!
Insensitive: I recently made the decison to remove my son from Dr. Herrmann's care after a year of her overbearing personality. She is a great physician but can be arrogant and insensitive. My personal opinion is that she does not value the parent's input on any situation, is abrasive, and should consider working on her "bedside manner". Any parent that wants to be actively involved in their child's healthcare should look someplace else.
