This is an outstanding place to eat "good old" home cooking, It's hard to find a place like this around the Atlanta area now a days. The food is seasoned just right and their prices are very reasonable! Very friendly and comfortable atmosphere. We eat there almost every week and so blessed it is so close to us!
I had a factory rep from NY visiting. I suggested Kellie's for dinner. He asked me what kind of food they served. I told him southern cooking. He again asked what kind of food? I said like the food your mother cooks. I told him the menu is on the wall, when something runs out, the waitress goes over to the menu and uses her finger to erase it from the white board. At the end of the meal I asked him to describe it. He said "Home cooked meal" and smiled. My brother-in-law from California likes to eat dinner on Wednesday. They have fried okra.
If you are looking for a good home cooked meal, stop by. You might find a neighbor at the next table. Breakfast is also great with large fresh, hot out of the oven, biscuits.
When I lived in Snellville, Kellie's was a favorite for good, classic, southern cooking. I always enjoyed it.
I happened to find myself on that side of town last week, and had dinner. It was mighty good! Two piece catfish dinner with mac & cheese, cole slaw, and fried gren tomatoes. Everything was fresh, homemade, and very tasty. Nothing frozen, or from a can, that I tasted, including the hot biscuits. The sweet tea was being made right in front of the patrons, as well.
2009 will find Kellie's a favorite of country folk, for 15 years now. With the from scratch food, and friendly service, it's easy to see why. Big thumbs up, to a mom & pop business, that gets southern cooking right.
