I went to woods animal hospital for the first time since Dr.wood and Randy left to get my dog lulus yearly shoots. And the Dr. Hyatt gave her the first shoot and lulu was fine then he gave her the second shoot and she yelped at the top of her lungs and climbed all the way onto my shoulders. theb he then he needed to get her temp. So before he was going to the thermometer still had another animals feces on it so he cleaned it off and then tryed to get it and lulu turned around and tryed to bit him as soon as he touched her and that s when i said Ur not going to be able to get it. So he then tryed to weigh her and he couldn t I had to do it for him because lulu wouldn t let him near her. So i went to check out and everything. We came home and lulu has been running a fever ever since and doesn t even wanna do anything. And I ve been watching her and if she doesn t get better I m goin to have to the other vet I go to. Because nothing like this has ever happened to her when Dr. Woods and them were there. Lulu has always been fine afterwards. I have to say this hospital sucks really bad now. I will never go back. They are very slow prices went up ( and that s why I went there for her shoots cuz Dr.woods and randys prices were cheaper for her shoots and they always did a great job) the place is very nasty and they don t know how to do there job right without hurting my dog. If anyone has had this problem after there animal had there shoot please tell me what to do. DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE EVER EVEN IF THE PRICE IS ALIL CHEAPER PAY THE EXTRA MONEY NOW. IT S NOT THE SAME PLACE ANYMORE THE DOCTORS SUCK NOW AND DON T KNOW WHAT THERE DOING. Thanks
We received a very sad diagnosis from a local veternarian (not Woods Animal Hospital) on Monday, February 27th that Milo, our 10 year old lab/rott mix, was riddled with cancer in her anal glands and that surgery and chemo would cost in the neighborhood of $10,000. (On a 10 year old dog? I don t think so!) So the next morning, in the midst of my tears and a posting on FB, the cheap side of me kicked in. I figured that if we had to put her down that I would find the cheapest place to do the deed. Needless to say, it wasn’t the same place that we went to on Monday! You see, we had read some very negative reviews about Woods Animal Hospital with all the changes going on and had decided to look elsewhere for a new vet. Well, the cheapest place I could find for putting Milo to sleep and for cremation was, you guessed it, Woods Animal Hospital. When I got there Tuesday afternoon, I was all set to hold my sweet Milo while they gave her the shot. The vet however had other ideas. Basically he said that her quality of life was too good to put her to sleep and that, in his opinion, the tumor (and it was a big one) did not look cancerous. He suggested that we at least extend her life by letting him take out the tumor for $350.00 - we ended up paying $300.00. So ... I got to take Milo home on Tuesday afternoon and they removed the tumor on Thursday.
Today she is active and happy. The worst problem we had was keeping her from licking and chewing on her incision. Thank you Dr. Hewitt! If any of you have left Woods Animal Hospital, I recommend that you give them another chance.
This is the exact opposite of my experience. After dealing with 12 months of misdiagnosis from this Vet, I found a new vet that correctly diagnosed the issue within 10 seconds. By luck alone, the tumor was benign. Otherwise my dog would be dead due to misdiagnosis after misdiagnosis by the revolving door staff at the post-Woods Woods. Best part is, my new vet is just as affordable and better in every way (especially the one that matters most, quality of care for my four legged friends)
I had all three of my dogs teeth cleaned for $55.00 per dog!!!! Other vets that I priced out charge around $195.00 per dog!
Dr. Woods noticed that one of my dogs is overweight, and had some questions about that. I explained that we had done blood tests and tested for Cushings Disease at another vet, at which time it was recommended that the dog be put on Science Diet R/D for overweight dogs.
I like the fact that Dr. Woods didn t just bring them through and clean their teeth and be done with it, but cared enough to inquire about, and prescribe for an overweight dog.
