We had our Camry serviced at Stone mountain about a month after we moved to Atlanta. They charged over a $1000 for oil change, A/C flush, etc. That was Ok. When we left the service department there was a toxic/fume smell that made one's eyes tear. We did not have this smell prior to going to get the car serviced. They said this smell should clear up in about a week. Four weeks later when I was driving the Camry with my wife (when we are together I usually drive my car and not the Camry), the smell was still there. My wife had not smelled the smell during the four weeks b/c she had been driving with the windows down. Told her to take it back to the dealer. The man in the service department opened the hood and then closed it. No real diagnostics were performed. He said the smell was mold and Lysol should save the day! When I called to say that toxic fume did not smell like mold, the man at the service department said yes it does and that he was the expert. Then he said maybe he could do something expensive (like take apart the ventilation system) and that might fix the problem, although he couldn't exactly tell me what the problem was. After this, we took the car to a garage specializing in Toyotas - they said the oil cap was not on, oil was over the engine and that was what we were smelling - $40 to take of it. Called customer service at Stone mountain. The customer service manager basically yelled at me and told me to go away (he said he couldn't help me because I stupidly did not take our Camry to his company a third time). Please don't go here - I don't mind paying a little extra for competence but I cannot handle incompetence and pay extra for it too.
