I purchased a gun and learned to shoot. I went to the Master Gunman with some friends who are experienced in shooting. We came to shoot on Monday night (Ladies Night) when it is half price ($5 per hour for women) between 6pm and 9pm. The hour with targets cost less than $10. I have friends, protection, and confidence. Master Gunman is close and my friends are now closer.
I ordered a gun online. The next morning I got an Email saying it had to be shipped to a licensed dealer. They happy to help me and faxed a copy of their licence to the gun dealer within 5 minutes. I will see y'all at the range.
Obviously, safety should come first, and it does at Master Gunman. My wife and I have been shooting at MG for over a year, and we love it because they don't allow unsafe shooters to use the range. I've been to a range that doesn't follow this practice, and it's truly frightening. Nothing ruins your shooting experience like shooter, who doesn't have the experience or the sense to safely use their handgun, accidently/negligently discharging their weapon in your direction. I've witnessed men and women of different races being told that they wouldn't be allowed to shoot, and some people just can't accept being told "No".
I've brought friends, who happen to be African Americans, there to shoot, and they have been treated with nothing but courtesy and respect. This is because they were sensible adults instead of spoiled adult-aged children whose only experience with firearms is from Call of Duty.
The people at MG care most about the safety of their customers, even if it means they'll get called "rude" or "racist" or lose out on a few bucks here and there. That's why I give MG 5 stars. After all, guns aren't toys, they're deadly weapons.
