This place is probably the best kept secret in Rome. The food is simply amazing, the service is impeccable, and the wine and martini list leaves nothing to be desired. This is far and away the best meal I've had in Rome. I had the Cowboy Ribeye which was rubbed with brown sugar and chili powder and topped with a hollandaise sauce, It was enormous and I was afraid I would never be able to finish it, especially with the generous portion of potatoes and veggies, but it was deceptively easy. Our server was prompt, attentive, and courteous but not overbearing. The muffins and butter were the perfect way to begin the meal, and I had an glass of prosecco to start the meal, and an amazing glass of Malbec with my steak. Phenomenal is all I have to say! They apparently have jazz and all night happy hour on Wednesdays and wine dinners every weekend. We definitely look forward to returning.
Went to Bistro 239 for our anniversary and LOVED it. Great service, outstanding food, and a warm atmosphere. Nice to see original artwork by local artists on the walls. My only suggestion for improvement, and this a slight thing, is to bring the lighting down a little bit; it was a bit bright for us. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely be returning.
Best Meal I Have Had in Rome. Georgia: We were dressed extremely casually as we walked into this white linen tableclothed, upscale place. We were greeted with a smile. After we were seated, we were brought warm, delicious bread and sweet honeyed butter. Absolutely divine. I ordered the cornmeal-dusted trout.
It came with hoppin' john, roasted mini carrots, roasted summer squash, roasted baby asparagus and shredded beets. Everything was wonderful. I was not very hungry, yet I cleaned my plate! The food was THAT good. my companions enjoyed their meals just as much. I have a new favorite restaurant.
