I LOVE Underground A...: I LOVE Underground Atlanta!!! I moved to Atlanta in 2005 and on a Saturday when I can't think of anything to do I jump on the MARTA train and it's not hard to find yourself spending the whole day down there. It is absolutely an awesome place to go. It is family friendly. I take my 1-year old there alot and he loves it. I adore Atlanta and all the attractions it has to offer!!!
We had been as a family about 6-7 + years ago. Back in August 2008. What a dump!! Overrun w/gangsta adults. kids, shops, vendors and not worth your time. Atlanta should be ashamed allowing
this once thriving area to go from a 10 to a minus 1. Not safe !! We spent less than 15 minutes there and the whole time had our hands on our wallets and purses.
The Underground was a nice happening place when I first visited Atlanta in 1993. The last time I went was in 2006, and found that many of the shops and restaurants had closed down and the place was swarming with bands of young hoodlums. It didn't even feel safe. It's a real shame they let it get to this. Totally unexcusable.
