| About: | Imagine the fun your family can have at Atlanta's own children's museum located only footsteps away from the Georgia Aquarium and Centennial Olympic Park in the heart of downtown's cultural district. Imagine It! The Children's Museum of Atlanta is designed for children 8 years old and under, but welcomes children (and adults) of all ages. The museum features four permanent exhibits that explore food, nature, engineering and artistic expression. Highlights include a giant ball machine, painting wall, sand sculpture station and hands-on water feature where children don raincoats and splash away. The museum also hosts traveling exhibits and regularly features special stage shows and educational programs. - Rachel Quartarone |

Loved this place. My three-year-old was enthralled with everything and I particularly appreciated the baby area so my seven-month-old could enjoy it, too. I've never seen them both as engaged and having such a great time as our experience here - especially during the live show.
True that it's probably better for smaller kids - six or so and younger, I would think. One star knocked off because of exhibits being pretty messy - of course anywhere you have kids fooling with stuff it's going to be chaotic, but they could have used a couple extra employees to put exhibits back together in a few spots. And it's also true that the kids are too busy playing with stuff to care about the "educational" aspects - nobody is reading the cards or exhibit info except the parents, so it's up to you to explain to your kid why something works the way it does - or just sit back and watch them have fun.
Overall, fabulous time. We were visiting from out-of-state; if we lived closer I'd definitely be getting a membership.
Pass on this unless you have really small children and absolutely nothing else to do. My 5 and 7 year old were done with this in less than an hour. Not a lot to do and the exhibits seem geared for really young children.
too much money for little things to do: For my 9 and 5 year old, the place was fun, but for us the almost $50 we had to pay for a family of 4 was too much money to just play with toys. Save your money and buy a pizza at chuck e cheeses.
