| About: | Every town has a gathering spot for local politicians and celebrities, and when the bigwigs turn out for Southern cuisine in Atlanta, this is the spot. Sip a Mint Julep while you peruse the menu of regional specialties, from Savannah crab cakes to coastal venison pie, home-baked breads and deserts to tomato-based barbecue. The hostess will greet you in a period hoop skirt, then escort you to the antebellum dining room to the accompaniment of live entertainment. A wine tasting is offered once a week as well. Full bar service available. |

We were in ATL for the Keller Williams Family Reunion(convention) and there were 7 of us that went to Pittypat's on Sunday night. When we arrived there was only one other table of customers but by the time we left I think the entire restaurant was full of Keller Williams agents. The food was very good and several of us decided to "split" plates considering the wide variety of salads available on the sideboard. I would definitely recommend that to anyone as their portions are more than enough for two! It was a little pricey but worth the experience.
Pricey Gourmet Southern Cuisine: Nice atmosphere, I love the jazz in the background. I love drinking out of the chalices. Being able to dine on the salad bar with a great variety of salads was a good for people who aren't meat lovers. Pickled watermelon rind on the salad bar made me reminiscent of big sunday diners in my family. I had the veal, it was well cooked and nicely presented. The waiter was very influential in our expereince and made us feel at home. A great place to introduce newcomers to the south and to Atlanta. Probably overlooked because of it's location, but worth the hunt for parking. You'll want to get in before the place before it fills. Expect to spend at least $20 per plate, so it is pricey. No the place to go if you just want fried chicken. But recommended for special occasions.
