| About: | This is an upscale Irish pub with plenty of atmosphere. Opened in 1996, much of the furniture, masonry and decor were imported from Ireland. Fado even sells Irish collectibles and sponsors Atlanta's local Gaelic football team. The menu includes Irish Oak Smoked Salmon, Guinness Battered Fish and Chips, and the exotic chicken or salmon boxtys (stuffed potato pancakes). Irish breakfasts of eggs, sausage, rashers and black and white puddings are served all day. Plenty of Guinness and Harp sold on draft, as well as fine Irish whiskeys. |

Fado is the best Irish Pub in Atlanta: Fado offers the best local Irish pub atmosphere in Atlanta. It has a mixture of English and Irish people hanging out here. It is a real neighborhood local type of pub with a lot of characters who come and go. The Guinness is great and the Strongbow is even better. Great place to watch Irish Football, Hurling and English Premiere League Football.
One of the best in the ATL: On Sat. 4/1, I went to Fado's with a few friends. I have to say, I was quite impressed with the place. What seems like just a few minutes after we ordered our food, it arrived and it was good! We did have a little bit of a wait for the drinks, and the noise level was higher than it really should be (it was Saturday night in Buckhead, after all). But the food was good and the service was good, too. In fact, I gave the waitress a $5 tip.
Overall, it was a worthwhile outing.
Cool...especially if you're of Irish blood...: My understanding is that this was a pub in Ireland, dismantled, shipped to Atlanta and put back together. I've never been to Ireland so this is pretty cool! Loved the live musicians as well.

That is close. The Fado chain purchases a bar/woodwork package from a company in Ireland and has it shipped here for each location. I don't know the name of the company in Ireland, but apparently they have been making bars, etc. for Irish pubs for a long time.
